About

Robert Crahmer (*1986, Lutherstadt Wittenberg) is a photographer and multimedia artist based in Berlin, working under the pseudonym Rob ≠ Chamber since 2016. Rooted in Berlin’s independent art and fashion scene, his work deals with identity, repression, belonging and the Eros principle.

It oscillates between staged theatricality and ironic abstraction, between über-stylization and deliberate deconstruction — a recurring ambivalence of contrasting emotions, ideas and symbols that challenges the binaries we keep rebuilding between Self and Other.

Underground subculture remains the starting point, visual art the primary medium. From there the work has spread onto the streets, onto the block of chains, into objects, into code, into sound, and perhaps, before too long, into interactive spatial experiences.

His digital 1/1 works and editions live on his own $CHMBR smart contract rather than on a platform’s. After the closure of Foundation, he began keeping some of them alive on a self-run IPFS node. His work has found its way into private collections and auction houses, both as fine-art prints and as digital editions.
